Own the Wind (Chaos #1) by Kristen Ashley Book Review

Tabitha Allen grew up in the thick of Chaos--the Chaos Motorcycle Club, that is. Her father is Chaos' leader, and the club has always had her back. But one rider was different from the start. When Tabby was running wild, Shy Cage was there. When tragedy tore her life apart, he helped her piece it back together. And now, Tabby's thinking about much more than friendship...

Tabby is everything Shy's ever wanted, but everything he thinks he can't have. She's beautiful, smart, and as his friend's daughter, untouchable. Shy never expected more than friendship, so when Tabby indicates she wants more--much more--he feels like the luckiest man alive. But even lucky men can crash and burn...

My Review

5 of 5 Shy Cage Parker

Thank you so much Netgalley for allowing me to read and ARC copy of Own The Wind: A Chaos Novel. I have to say that I fell in love with The Chaos Motor Cycle Club and Tack Allen from Motorcycle Man. Man oh man there is something about the roar of a Harley engine and a smart mouth guy talking shit to you and demanding you do things his way or the highway darling! Bawhahaha I loved every minute of the dream man series and when I found out The Chaos Club was getting a series I dam near died. I could not believe Tabby was getting her book and that her story would be the first story. I honestly need more about Rush and I hope we get a book about Rush because I need to know if he is like his daddy.

In Own The Wind we get to see Tabby grown up. She had a rough time in Motorcycle Man as she was trying to find herself and make a place for herself without her father having any say and her brother there to butt in. She made some bad choices and decisions but when we see her again in Own The Wind she is in nursing school and she has graduated. We get to see Tabby grow into her women hood and I have to say it is BRILLIANT! We also get to see Tabby fall in love and get her heart broken only to fall in love again and have her heart broken again. But being an Allen and a Chaos member she bounces back with her family by her side.

Tabby has always had a crush on Parker "Shy" Cage since he came to save her when she was 16 years old. As the years go on she watches Shy and wants him but Shy is part of the club and no one in the club is allowed near Tabby so she settles for his friendship all the while she is totally crushing on her. As she gets older Shy is the only one who comes to get her out of trouble or when she is somewhere she is not supposed to be Shy goes and gets her and brings her home.

Well Shy is determined to teach Tabby a lesson about her friends and the places she goes to so he is harsh with her like no one else will be and he tells her some truths but is also a little to harsh on her and she is all set with him. She gives him the cold shoulder and stops talking to him or even going to the club where he is. If she wants to see her father she goes to his house but never the club. Then she falls in love and gets engaged when tragedy strikes and the one person who she stops talking to is the only person who can get through her built up walls.

As Shy and Tabby become closer and move past what he did to her Tabby starts to fall in love with him. They both know that they can't have a relationship in public because her father Tack would kill Shy and all Shy has is the club and his brother Brandon whom I love and he needs a book all to himself! But Shy is willing to take a hit for Tabby because he wants her on his bike and in his bed. As they fight the attraction to one another things get crazy for them and Tabby decides she is leaving to give Shy his space and that right there is the game changer for Shy. He loves Tabby and he is willing to risk it all for her.

I loved this story so much because Tabby and Shy had to fight for what they wanted. Things were not easy and they had their fair share of trials and tribulations but at the end of the day they had to decide if they wanted to be together and risk it all or walk away and never see each other again. Once you start reading this you will not be able to put it down. I need the print version so I can read it over and over again! Team Shy and Tabby all the way! I rooted for them right from the very first page and so will you.

Team Chaos!
Kristen Ashley was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She nearly killed her mother and herself making it into the world, seeing as she had the umbilical cord wrapped around her neck (already attempting to accessorise and she hadn't taken her first breath!).

Kristen grew up in Brownsburg, Indiana but has lived in Denver, Colorado and the West Country of England. Thus she has been blessed to have friends and family around the globe. Her posse is loopy (to say the least) but loopy is good when you want to write.

Kristen was raised in a house with a large and multi-generational family. They lived on a very small farm in a small town in the heartland and existed amongst the strains of Glenn Miller, The Everly Brothers, REO Speedwagon and Whitesnake (and the wardrobes that matched).

Needless to say, growing up in a house full of music, clothes and love was a good way to grow up.

And as she keeps growing up, it keeps getting better.
